Rumors and Rumors of Rumors

Jesus heals a man with a demon: "Return to your home, and declare how much God has done for you." Jesus raises Jairus's daughter: And her parents were amazed, but he charged them to tell no one what had happened.

Rumors and rumors of rumors. Why does God tell some to proclaim what He has don and others to keep it a secret? To those who ask him for signs He gives none, but for those who are broken and have hope nowhere else He works miracles.

Hear this you stubborn heart: Jesus gives hope to the broken, rest to the weary, comfort to the hurting.

Rumors and rumors of rumors. What is God up to? He is making all things new -- restoring relationship with the separated and infusing His creation once again with the love, mercy, compassion and grace He so desperately wants to give us. It's not what He does for us that's so important, but that He cares enough to do it.

And so we hear it through rumors and rumors of rumors until we come close enough to meet Him for ourselves.
