Surpassing Worth

Father, whatever power I have is from You. Whatever power to be a warrior for righteousness is breathed into me by Your Spirit. It is in the strength of Your might that I carry Your armor; my strength is nothing. Indeed, everything I have is garbage next to the extraordinarily surpassing worth of being in relationship with you, of walking with You, of hearing You speak divine secrets to my heart, of laying my sword and shield at Your feet in allegiance, loyalty, and absolute confidence in the might of Your rule.

Nothing can match the worth of Your love, Your glory, Your might. You make everything else worth a thousand fold more than its inherent value. You turn suffering, pain, and death into priceless jewels. You make a word from a stranger turn to a fountain of light in the deep places of the hart. You turn the struggles of relationship -- with parents, spouses, children, friends -- into bonds of steel, forged to multiply our strength in partnerships against darkness and give us hope, strength, and meaning as we walk the path you've given us.

And you take the worthlessness of me -- in my pride and laziness and desire to love only myself -- and make me a princess, a priestess, a warrior by the inexhaustible, unconquerable power of the resurrection of Christ, to send me forth as an ambassador of Your Name. To You be the glory, Father.

You are worth more because You make everything, EVERYTHING, worth more than it is.

Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.
